If your Texas home or Property was insured by Meridian Security Insurance Company (“Defendant” or “Meridian”) and you made a claim to Meridian for Structural Loss to your property from November 15, 2020, and November 22, 2022, this class action Settlement may affect your rights.

A Proposed Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit about whether Defendant properly deducted Nonmaterial Depreciation when adjusting certain Structural Loss claims in Texas. You may qualify for payment if you timely submit a valid Claim Form. Your legal rights are affected whether you act, or do not act. Submit a Claim Form

The only way to receive a payment. You must complete and submit a valid Claim Form online or by mail no later than March 17, 2027.

Objection

Write to the Court explaining why you disagree with the Settlement. Objections must be postmarked no later than November 17, 2026.

Exclude Yourself

Get no payment but keep your right to sue Meridian separately over these claims. Exclusion requests must be postmarked no later than November 17, 2026.

Go to a Hearing

Ask to speak in Court about the Settlement at the Final Approval Hearing on December 17, 2026.

Do Nothing

You will not receive a payment, and you will give up your right to sue Meridian separately about these claims.


Current Status

On July 24, 2026, the Court granted preliminary approval of the proposed Settlement between Plaintiff Delilah Walter and Defendant Meridian Security Insurance Company. A Final Approval Hearing has been scheduled for December 17, 2026, at which the Court will decide whether to grant final approval to the Settlement.
